You can rent almost any standard 4x4 vehicle in Georgia - But if you are looking at staying and living in Georgia you will want to have your own.
Local welding - engineering and mechanical workshops can do amazing custom work on your standard 4x4.
There are plenty of local 4x4 tours - The larger companies offer excellent tours but many of the tour guides do not speak English well enough to really complete the experience -

There are some amazing trails both in summer and winter. The highveld in winter tends to be dry and cold with the higher mountain peaks covered in powdery snow and has a similar climate to Johannesburg.
Summer is fantastic in Georgia hot and dry around Tbilisi and humid in Batumi like Durban.

You can ride mountain trails, open beaches or the high-velt. Many operators are localized to specific areas but some will take the horses to where you want them - We also do horse camping. Rivers are every where and camp-sites or small hotels/bed and breakfasts to stay in.
